Olivine didn’t know the last time he had gotten to relax. Not like this, anyway.
Since exam season had begun, he’d been up late at night, constantly reviewing textbook after textbook. Note after note. He had studied diligently for his various nursing courses up to this point; there was no way he was going to back out of this now,
In the same vein, Olivine’s roommate and boyfriend, Quincy, had been doing the same. The older man had even begun putting naps to the side during the stressful event. It was odd for him to do so; Olivine didn’t think that Quincy would push those back over something so ‘troublesome’.
Days after tortuous exam questions and open answers, Olivine had been able to retreat to his dorm room, with Quincy following suit the following evening.
For once, the two of them could have a night to themselves after stressing over minor, fine details in their study notes. Or, oral practices for a language class that they were taking together.
The younger man’s back was pressed against Quincy’s chest. His soaked head rested just inches below Quincy’s shoulder. His eyes were closed in content as the blond’s fingers massaged his scalp with peach-scented shampoo.
“Go… Go up a little. A little more.” Olivine murmured, his words spilling from his lips like unguarded, drunken secrets. The top of his head leaned up into the touch from Quincy’s dexterous fingers rubbing his head. It was almost catlike how he welcomed the feeling, and leaned into it as if it would intensify the sensation.
The moment Quincy’s hand reached Olivine’s crown, a satisfied moan droned from his lips. Olivine’s back fell further against Quincy’s form, as if he had received one of the best orgasms to date. “Haah..~ Right… Right there~.”
He could feel a low chuckle reverberate against Quincy’s chest. Faintly, a small smile stretched upon Olivine’s own features.
“Does it hurt?” Quincy asked, his voice not raising more than a mumble. His own utterance had a hoarse sound to it. As if he had strained it, despite being a man of few words. “Do you have a headache, Olivine?”
Olivine’s eyes fluttered over briefly, his green hues glancing up at the blond massaging his head. “Mmm, not that I’m not aware of.” He responded, his right hand reaching up to touch his lover. “It just feels… good. I haven’t felt so relaxed in a while.”
Whether it was a grunt or a huff, Olivine wasn’t sure how Quincy had responded initially. All he’d heard was a low noise in acknowledgment. It wasn’t like he had much time to pay attention. Not while Quincy was gently running a hand through his shampoo-lathered hair. He swore that he could have melted there and then from how gentle the blond’s touch was.
“Hm,” Quincy hummed, “I have no issue with doing this again.”
Olivine’s eyes widened more this time, his mouth gaping open for a moment or two. He wasn’t sure how to accept such a caring offer right there and then. Wouldn’t it burden Quincy from his other duties? He surely couldn’t distract him from the other things in his life.
“N-No, no. You don’t have to go out of your way for… me.” Olivine began to backtrack on his words, each word slowly descending into a softer whisper. Abashedly, his gaze fell onto the bathwater. He could see Quincy’s legs entangled with his own as they sat in the bathtub together. He could feel each breath rise and fall against his own back.
Quincy’s hand slowed into a stop as he pushed Olivine’s locks back from his face. “I’m not doing this out of obligation.” He spoke, the sound of bathwater rippling from among them harmonizing with his voice. Olivine watched as he scooped some of the bathwater from the tub with a small jug. How he began to lift it above the other’s head.
“I’m doing this because I love you.” Quincy continued, his hand tipping the water-filled jug atop Olivine’s head. “Because you deserve this. You looked exhausted.”
The moment the water began to trickle over his hair, Olivine closed his eyes. Water washing over his own head - his own hair - was calming, he had to admit. Especially with someone taking the time to have done it for him instead.
Quincy wasn’t wrong in the slightest. Despite his exam season ending a day before the other’s, it had taken a lot of energy from Olivine. He, who had once preferred cooking, had struggled with finding the energy to cook or eat earlier that day.
When Quincy moved to scoop up some more bathwater, Olivine took the time to speak once more.
“You’re sure?” He questioned, the sound of water dripping filling the momentary silence of his words. “I mean… I don’t want to burden you over something so simple. It’s just a bath, after all.” Olivine tried to elaborate, only to be cut off when a second rinse of water soaked his head once more.
“You’re not a burden.” Quincy corrected, “You’re my boyfriend. I’d do anything for you to be comfortable.”
Olivine’s cheeks flushed at the comments his partner had made. If anything, he was more than sure that his heart would have palpitated if Quincy were to have continued.
Gently, Quincy combed Olivine’s hair back once more. The sound of water being scooped for a final rinse filled any silence between them. “Let me take care of you tonight.” He murmured, only to soften his voice afterward. “Please.”
Olivine’s lips lifted into a smile once more - something fond and loving. As if he had submitted to the gentle, attentive care that Quincy was so kindly giving him. After all, Olivine wouldn’t have had the energy to have done this all himself. It was the least he could do for Quincy, after all. Perhaps, once he was more wll-rested, Olivine could return the favour.
“Alright.” Olivine whispered. His green eyes opened, and looked up at Quincy from beneath his lashes. “As you wish, Quincy.”
